Carlos Mauricio Ramírez is KSTS Telemundo 48’s new primetime sports anchor.
The station hired him to replace Gabriel Sotelo, who left the station in March to become a pastor.
Ramírez will split sports anchoring responsibilities with weekend anchor Raul Striker.
He started his new role on Monday, April 1.
Ramírez previously worked as sports anchor for Telemundo 20 San Diego. He also delivered reports for NBC 7.
Before that, he was the media director for the Toros de Tijuana in Mexico. He has also worked for Fox Sports as the play-by-play announcer for the Venezuelan professional baseball league.
He began his career in sports radio in his native Venezuela at the age of 19.
