Barely a year since joining “Un Nuevo Día,” host Marco Antonio Regil has exited the Telemundo morning show.
Regil, who was added to the morning team in April 2018, announced in March that he was planning to leave his morning show role to focus on personal projects, including writing his first book.
His final show was April 26, but he will continue to work with the network.
“The charismatic TV personality will collaborate in future projects,” says a Telemundo spokesperson. “Marco Antonio has been an integral part of the morning team and we wish him all the best in this new phase.”
Among the future projects, Regil will work on a Telemundo game show.
Regil has previously hosted several game shows in Mexico and in the U.S., including “100 Latinos Dijeron” and “Minuto Para Ganar,” which aired on the now-defunct MundoFox network.
Telemundo would not say if Regil will be replaced on “Un Nuevo Día.”
The morning show will continue to be hosted by Rashel Díaz, Adamari López, Héctor Sandarti and Stephanie Himonidis, better known as “Chiquibaby.”
