Univision is making changes to boost Unimás and cable sports network UDN.
During a press briefing today unveiling its 2019-2020 programming lineup, Univision execs announced the company will be investing on a “refocused and reprioritized” goal of its “core business” – Spanish-language broadcasting. And to do so, they will reprogram Unimás to become a “live entertainment destination” and rebrand UDN to TUDN (tu-de-ene).
As part of those plans, Univision is launching a new 10 p.m. newscast on Unimás co-anchored by Enrique Acevedo and Patricia Janiot.
The TUDN rebrand will debut this summer. A collaboration with Grupo Televisa will give way to new programming and talent on the rebranded sports network.
Later in the year, Univision will introduce TUDNxtra, a streaming service offering access to more live soccer matches in conjunction with its distribution partners at no additional cost to viewers.
Univision will hold a two-day Upfront event for advertisers starting next Monday, May 13, where they plan to make a splash with their upcoming shows and celebrity talent.
