WarnerMedia has tapped Joey Chavez to join the executive team for its new HBO Max streaming service.
As EVP of Original Drama, Chavez will oversee creative development for HBO Max original drama series. He’ll be responsible for “bringing in distinctive and diverse projects from notable storytellers.”
Prior HBO Max, he was SVP of Original Programming at TNT, developing series such as the Emmy-award-winning “The Alienist” and cable drama “Claws.”
Before that, Chavez was VP of Drama Development at NBC, where he was the primary development executive on “The Blacklist” and worked on several series, including “Parenthood,” “Heroes,” and “Law & Order.”
