María Elena Salinas will make her first appearance on “CBS This Morning” since she was named CBS News contributor last month.
Her debut is August 8.
Salinas will be live in studio to discuss the latest news on the El Paso shooting and the reaction from the Hispanic community locally and across the country.
CBS announced her participation in tomorrow’s show late in the day. Minutes later, Salinas responded on social media: “Looking forward to it! Can’t wait to sit down with the amazing @CBSThisMorning team. Wish it was under better circumstances.”
Update 8/8/19: CBS tweeted about the former Univision anchor’s arrival to the morning show and uploaded clips of her analysis of the El Paso shooting.
“There’s many people who don’t go out and vote. You know, the percentage of people that go out and vote, the turnout is very low among Latinos but that has been changing in the last elections.” — @MariaESalinas pic.twitter.com/cXoqxJWv3u
