Estrella Media has named Eddie León EVP of Radio Programming.
A 25-year radio industry veteran, León will be responsible for overseeing programming at Estrella Media’s 17 owned and operated radio stations across the U.S., including the Don Cheto Radio Network.
He’ll work closely with radio programmers in various markets and oversee research, content, format selection and execution, as well as setting creative strategy and direction for the radio division.
León previously worked for LBI Media, Univision Radio and helped launch SBS’s WLEY La Ley in Chicago.
A native of Michoacán, León immigrated to the U.S. in 1977, studying broadcast journalism at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California.
He started his career in California’s central valley, working in stations in Santa Maria, Bakersfield, Fresno, Stockton, Sacramento and Salinas.
