Telemundo Orlando is changing its top leadership.
General Manager Luis Roldán and VP of News Roberto Vizcón, both of whom joined the Telemundo O&O in 2018, have exited the company.
A station spokesperson confirmed their departure with the following statement:
“Luis Roldán has resigned from Telemundo 31. Manuel Martínez, President of the Telemundo Station Group is overseeing the station’s operations until a new GM is named. Roberto Vizcón is no longer employed by Telemundo 31. WTMO’s newsroom will be overseen by Assistant News Director Jessica Pacheco.”
The longtime TV execs were brought on board after Telemundo acquired the previously ZGS-owned station.
Roldán arrived to WTMO from Puerto Rico, where he held various leadership roles, including President and GM of WKAQ-TV Telemundo, SVP and GM of SBS’s MegaTV and EVP/ COO America CV’s owned and operated stations in New York, Miami and San Juan.
Before rejoining Telemundo Orlando, Vizcón spent four years at Univision, as News Director in Puerto Rico and then WLTV 23 in Miami. He previously worked as WSCV Telemundo 51 News Director from 1992 to 2004. That’s when, after a long career in Univision and Telemundo newsrooms, he took over as VP and General Manager of WTMO from 2004 to 2007.
