Telemundo Houston has started a daily weekday digital newscast. After doing a low-key test run for several months, the station officially announced the launch this week.
El Break de Telemundo Houston, hosted by anchors Ingrid Barrera and Luis Gerardo Núñez, delivers news, human interest stories and weather in less than 10 minutes.
New episodes post weekdays at 7 pm CT and are available on Roku and Apple TV, as well as the stations’ online site and app.
The digicast part of the station’s efforts to build a presence in the OTT ecosystem.
For the month of April, El Break Houston got 2.5K unique visitors and generated 49K video views with 129K minutes watched.
Last month, Telemundo Las Vegas launched a similar digicast called Dale Play.
