María Sánchez Díez joins the New York Times‘ Newsroom Development and Support team as a senior editor of digital storytelling and training.
She begins the new role today.
Sánchez Díez arrives from The Washington Post, where she spent over two years, starting as operations editor and moving to senior editor for subscriptions and engagement earlier this year.
Prior to The Post, she ran the Electionland project at ProPublica. Before that, she was a general assignment editor at Univision.
Sánchez Díez previously worked as a reporter for Quartz and as digital editor-in-chief for Condé Nast in her native Spain.
