Paulina Sodi lands at Univision as weekend anchor

Paulina Sodi

Paulina Sodi has a new television home. Univision announced today she will be the network’s new weekend news anchor.

She steps into the on-air role starting this Saturday, June 5.

She replaces Arantxa Loizaga, who jumped ship to Telemundo in January to become a weekday morning anchor at the rival network’s revamped live 3-hour weekday morning show.

Sodi will co-host the 6:30 and 11:30 p.m. ET/PT editions of Noticiero Univision alongside Félix De Bedout.

During her first week at Univision, she’ll be in Mexico City to cover the Mexican legislative elections. She’ll be filing reports for “Despierta América,” different editions of “Noticiero Univision” and public affairs program “Al Punto.”

Sodi previously spent almost 8 years at Telemundo. First, as an anchor at Telemundo Houston. She moved up to Telemundo network news anchor in 2017 and mysteriously disappeared from the air in March, with the company confirming her “mutual agreement” departure weeks later.

Before her arrival to the U.S., Sodi worked as an anchor for TV Azteca for over 10 years.
