Lourdes Sandoval has been promoted to VP of News Operations, Public Affairs and Engagement, taking on a broader, more senior executive role at Entravision.
Sandoval now oversees all nationwide news operations for the company, stepping into the position left vacant by Luisa Collins, who moved to Univision New York.
She will continue to be based in San Diego, where she has worked for the past 25 years.
Sandoval was most recently news director for Entravision’s Univision and Azteca América affiliates in San Diego, as well as California news director for El Centro, Palm Springs, and Costa Central.
She also led the news department at Telemundo 33 until Telemundo severed its affiliate agreement with Entravision in 2017.
Prior to joining Univision, she spent two years as a press attaché at the Consulate General of Mexico in San Diego.
Before moving to the U.S., Sandoval worked for Televisa in Tijuana and Mexico City.
