KASA-TV Telemundo Nuevo México today announced the launch of its local weekday newscasts at 5 and 10 pm, headlined by an all-male talent lineup.
“Noticias Telemundo Nuevo México” begins today, October 18.
Alejandro Contreras will anchor both newscasts. He’s joined by reporters Sergio Guerrero and Jaime Prieto.
The newscast is produced in partnership with KOB-TV, the NBC affiliate station in Albuquerque.
In addition to using KOB’s studios for the shows, KOB bilingual meteorologist Iván Cabrera will deliver Spanish-language weather forecasts for KASA-TV.
The launch of Telemundo’s newest O&O’s local newscasts comes less than two weeks following the company’s acquisition of the Ramar Communications New Mexico stations.
KASA-TV previously aired a Spanish-language newscast in New Mexico with Contreras, Guerrero and Prieto as reporters. Prior to joining KASA-TV, they all worked at Univision New Mexico.
Telemundo would not provide additional details regarding its production teams.
