Alberto Orso is taking over leadership of the second hour of Good Morning America as senior broadcast producer, effective immediately.
In a note to staff this morning announcing the promotion, GMA’s executive producer Simone Swink wrote:
“Alberto has played a key role for years in shaping and strategizing the daily and weekly rhythms and wins of the second hour. I am confident the hour is in great hands going forward along with the incredible senior team and producers who work so hard and smart to make this hour superb every single day.”
Orso has led GMA’s coverage of the Oscars for almost a decade and worked extensively on breaking news for the morning show.
His past experience includes stints as producer for MTV, VH1 and Oxygen Media.
Orso started his broadcast career as a production assistant on Peter Jennings‘ Millennium Special and moved on to the now defunct New York Times TV division and worked with Anthony Bourdain on his first television series.
