Ilia García and Dacelys Martínez Ortega are moving up the ranks within the Univision local media station group.
García has been promoted to the role of news director and anchor for Univision Philadelphia. She was most recently executive producer and anchor.
A native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, García began her journalism career 17 years ago as a freelance reporter at WUVP, which would later become Univision 65.
Martínez Ortega has been elevated to regional news director for Univision’s Atlanta and Raleigh Stations. She was most recently producer and anchor Univision 34.
She joined the Atlanta station as a freelance news editor in 2016, following a 15-year journalism career in her native Venezuela.
