CBS News has named Mark Lima VP and Washington bureau chief.
He assumes his new role on January 17.
Lima leaves Los Angeles, where he was CBS News’ West Coast bureau chief, to take over the spot left vacant following Ingrid Ciprian-Matthews’ promotion to EVP of newsgathering for CBS News.
Prior to joining CBS News in 2020, he spent seven years as VP of news at Fusion, overseeing news coverage in English for Univision’s cable network, where he also executive produced the weekly Facebook Watch program “Real America with Jorge Ramos.”
Lima previously worked at ABC News for 15 years in various roles, including senior producer at Nightline and deputy bureau chief in Los Angeles from 2004 to 2008. He also held jobs as director of sports and special projects at ABC NewsOne, the network’s affiliate newsgathering service.
This marks Lima’s return to Washington, D.C., where he worked throughout the 1990’s.
