Belén Smole is leaving Univision Houston to join Telemundo 62 in Philadelphia as a news anchor.
She will join Alberto Rullán on the anchor desk weekday evenings at 5 and 6 pm.
An Emmy award-winning journalist, she’ll replace Iris Delgado, who left the station to become weekday anchor at Telemundo Orlando.
Smole starts her new role on Monday, March 21.
She arrives to Telemundo 62 from KXLN Univision 45 in Houston, where she spent three years as a consumer investigative reporter and fill-in morning anchor.
She previously worked as a general assignment reporter and multimedia journalist at KCEC-TV in Denver, Colorado. While there, she also served as a fill-in anchor for the station’s newscasts in Colorado, New Mexico, and Kansas.
Smole started her journalism career in her native of Argentina.
