Award-winning investigative reporter Yvette Cabrera will join the Center for Public Integrity as a senior reporter covering inequality in economic and social well-being.
She starts the new job May 9.
Cabrera was most recently a senior writer at environmental journalism nonprofit Grist. Before that, she was an environmental justice reporter at HuffPost and investigative reporter for ThinkProgress.org, covering criminal justice, immigration and environmental issues.
Her past experience includes 13 years at the Orange County Register, where she worked as a metro columnist and reporter.
Cabrera started her career as a reporter at the Los Angeles Daily News.
She currently serves as Vice President, online on the national board of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ).
