After four decades at Univision, John B. Pérez is moving to Telemundo to become SVP of news production.
In this newly created role, Pérez will be responsible for studio and field operations of news productions and manage the technical aspects of special news projects, including election coverage and the launch of Noticias Telemundo Ahora, a new Spanish-language 24-hour streaming news channel in partnership with NBC News NOW.
He’ll be based in Miami and report to Patsy Loris, head of Noticias Telemundo, herself a longtime executive at Univision, where they both previously worked together.
Pérez was most recently the SVP of production and technical operations at Univision News, where he oversaw news operations.
During his lengthly tenure at Univision, Pérez held several executive positions, including VP of production operations for news, entertainment and sports, managing in-studio and remote productions for news special events, sports productions and high-profile entertainment award shows.
