Iván Taylor is crossing over to English-language news. He joins WFOR-4, the CBS O&O in Miami as a reporter.
He started at the station today and is expected to make his on-air debut Election Day, Tuesday, November 8.
This marks his first broadcasting job in English after more than 20 years in the Spanish-language news industry.
After a search that led to potential opportunities in other parts of the country, he was able to land a position in Miami.
“It was important to stay in South Florida, this is home. I want to be close to my dad, my family and my community,” he tells Media Moves.
Taylor was previously a weekend anchor and reporter at Univision 23 in Miami until March, when the company shut down the investigative unit and cut jobs.
Prior to Univision, he worked as a Houston-based correspondent for Telemundo network.
From 2011 to 2014, he was a weekend anchor and reporter at WNJU Telemundo 47 in New York. Before that, he spent 12 years as a reporter and weekend anchor at WSCV Telemundo 51 in Miami.
