Danny Freeman joins CNN as a Philadelphia-based correspondent.
The Emmy Award-winning reporter arrives to the cable news network from NBC10 in Philadelphia, where he was an investigative reporter focused on campaign finance, environmental issues, and police accountability.
Freeman previously worked as a political reporter for NBC 7 in San Diego, where he hosted “Politically Speaking,” the station’s weekly public affairs show.
Before that, he was a reporter at NBC affiliate KGET-17 News in Bakersfield, California.
A Colombian-American journalist, Freeman started his career in Medellin, Colombia, where he reported on politics and the country’s 2014 presidential election.
Following his experience abroad, he returned home to New York, where he joined the NBCUniversal Page Program, which led to him working at MSNBC and the NBC News Decision Desk, later moving to NBC Nightly News. Soon after, he became a campaign embedded reporter covering the 2016 presidential race for NBC News.
