The NAHJ Board of Directors has named Yaneth Guillén-Díaz interim Chief Operations Officer of the organization, following David Peña, Jr’s resignation as executive director.
Peña had been on the job a little more than a year, when he quit the job, less than two weeks from NAHJ’s national convention.
Guillén-Díaz is the longest-serving staff member of NAHJ, and possesses deep institutional knowledge of the organization, where she has worked for more than 20 years in a series of roles with increasing responsibility.
She was most recently senior director of training and membership, designing, planning, and implementing training programs for professional members. Her duties also included the oversight of more than 20 professional chapters, providing them with training and management.
Guillén-Díaz will assume the managerial responsibilities for the upcoming National Association of Hispanic Journalists International Training Convention and Expo in Miami.
