Marcelo Rivera has landed his first job in television news as a weekend weather anchor.
He started his new on-air gig at KSTS Telemundo 48 in San Jose, CA last week.
This marks a shift in Rivera’s career path. After earning degrees in business administration and labor relations, he is transitioning from managerial roles in academia.
His past experience includes more than 10 years in assistant registrar and director positions at Carleton State University in Texas and the Interamerican University in his native Puerto Rico.
Driven by a fascination with weather forecasting sparked by his childhood experience of Hurricane Hugo sweeping over Puerto Rico, he is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology at Mississippi State University.
