Network correspondent and morning news anchor Martín Berlanga is no longer with Telemundo.
He spoke about his exit today on a social media live feed.
Berlanga had been with the network since 2019, first as a freelancer before landing a full-time job as news correspondent, based in Miami.
A Telemundo spokesperson issued the following statement regarding his departure: “Martin is a highly talented journalist and professional. We are especially grateful for his contributions to Telemundo and wish him all the best in his future projects.”
Berlanga had most recently been anchoring the news segment on the network’s morning show “Hoy Día.”
Moving forward, Octavio Pulido, brought in from Telemundo Arizona in August 2023 to anchor the network’s “Telemundo al Mediodía” program, will be anchoring the morning show’s news segments.
Berlanga previously worked as an anchor at Telemundo Houston for 12 years. He resigned in 2018. He also spent 16 years at Univision, as an anchor and reporter at the local Houston station, prior to moving to a Texas correspondent role. He would go on to be an anchor for Noticias Univision Ultima Hora and the network’s weekend newscast.
