Telemundo Studios has a new leadership structure.
Ronald Day was promoted to President, Entertainment and Chief Content Officer, expanding his responsibilities beyond entertainment programming and unscripted content to include Telemundo Studios.
Javier Pons joins Telemundo Studios in the newly created position of Executive Vice President of Telemundo Studios, tasked with leading scripted productions for Telemundo network and streaming platforms.
The changes will help boost its scripted culturally relevant content across linear and streaming platforms, according to Luis Fernandez, Chairman, NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises.
Day, who arrived at Telemundo in 2018, was previously President of Entertainment and Content Strategy, where he oversaw the network’s content strategy with a focus on daily entertainment, in collaboration with Telemundo Global Studios, News and Sports.
Pons was most recently General Director of Globomedia, a production company in Spain, and Head of TV at The Mediapro Studio, where he led production of multiple series for mobile and streaming platforms, and co-produced the feature film “Competencia Oficial” by Mariano Cohn and Gastón Duprat, starring Antonio Banderas, Penélope Cruz, and Oscar Martinez.
Pons career includes multiple leadership roles in major radio and television companies in Spain including Prisa Radio, Televisión Española and Discovery Kiss. He also worked in Mexico as President of the production company On Demand and as Executive Producer at Estudios Azteca.
