Humberto Hormaza has joined Nexstar Media Group as VP and General manager of its broadcast and digital operations in Houston.
He’ll be responsible for overseeing the long-term strategy and day-to-day operations of KIAH-TV (CW), cw39.com, and their related digital and social media channels.
He started his new role on May 13.
Hormaza made the move to Texas from Hartford, Connecticut, where he was president and GM of Tegna’s FOX and CW affiliates (WTIC-WCCT) since March 2022.
He previously spent 8 years at Entravision Communications in Orlando, in various roles before getting promoted to SVP and general manager in 2016.
Hormaza’s more than 20-year career includes positions as local sales manager at WJAN and WFUN and led the launch of the now defunct MundoFOX in Miami from 2011 to 2014.
