ViX EVP Rodrigo Mazón to exit TelevisaUnivision

Rodrigo Mazón is stepping down from his post as executive vice president and chief content officer of ViX streaming service.

Mazón, who joined Univision in 2021, prior to its merger with Televisa, will leave the company July 1.

Mazón was brought on board from Netflix to help launch and oversee all aspects of TelevisaUnivision’s new global streaming service, which later evolved into ViX.

Prior to spending six years at Netflix, where he was VP of Content, he worked at Hulu as director of content acquisition.

In a statement, TelevisaUnivision acknowledged his departure saying:

“Since joining the company three years ago, Rodrigo has served as an integral member of the team dedicated to building and driving the content enterprise for ViX, the first global large-scale streaming services created specifically for the Spanish-speaking world,” playing “a pivotal role in shaping our streaming services, from content strategy and original production to talent relations and subscriber growth. His deep industry experience and exceptional leadership have been invaluable to our company, and we are grateful for his contributions.”

The company also stated it was looking forward to collaborating with him on future projects, wishing him “all the best in his future endeavors.”
