Alejandra Santamaría has been named President and Chief Executive Officer of Southern California Public Radio (SCPR).
She succeeds CEO Herb Scannell, who recently retired from the role.
Santamaría will join SCPR and LAist this month.

During her time in that role, she oversaw sales and operations for KMEX-34, UniMás KFTR, KLVE-FM, KSCA-FM, KRCD/V-FM, KTNQ-AM radio stations, and digital properties in the L.A. market.
Santamaría was previously President and General Manager of Univision Arizona where she led all stations operations, and sales initiatives and digital marketing solutions for the companies’ Arizona local TV, radio and digital properties.
