Telemundo Utah has a new anchor team. Michelle Benitez has been named anchor. Joining her is Jesús Bastidas, who was promoted to anchor.
They debut in their new roles today, Monday, July 29, during the 5 p.m. edition of Noticiero Telemundo Utah.
Benitez joins Telemundo Utah from WUVG Univision 34 Atlanta, where she was an evening and late news anchor for more than four years.
She previously spent more than two years as a news anchor for Noticias WINK and Univision WSFL in Fort Myers, Fla. She also gained experience as an assistant producer and reporter for the Telemundo 31 in Orlando. She is a native of Ecuador.
Bastidas, who joined Telemundo Utah in May 2022 as a multimedia journalist, leads special reports and original content projects.
Prior his move to Utah, Bastidas held a variety of media roles for Venezuelan media outlets, including news anchor and producer for VPItv, based in Miami. He is originally from Venezuela.
