Vera Castillo has moved to South Carolina to embark on a new chapter in her career.
She has joined WSPA-TV CBS 7 as executive producer, where she’ll oversee “Your Carolina,” an hour-long, community-focused lifestyle and entertainment program.
Prior to joining the Nexstar Media Group-owned station in Greenville/Spartanburg, she was senior executive producer of programming for NBC6 and Telemundo 51 in Miami, in charge of lifestyle and entertainment shows, a role she left in December 2023.
Before that, spent a decade as executive producer for Telemundo 51’s newscasts.
“Leaving the station I considered my home for the past 11 years was a hard decision,” Castillo tells Media Moves.
“Six months ago, my family and I decided to relocate to South Carolina…I am thrilled about this new opportunity.”
Castillo’s broadcast career spans 25 years in various roles at Telemundo, Mega TV, Galavision and Telefutura (now Unimás) networks.
