After an 11-year career at Telemundo Orlando, Valezka Gil has left the company.
She started a new job this week at AdventHealth Orlando as an external communications specialist.
The multi Emmy award-winning journalist first announced her departure from the Telemundo station on social media shortly after returning from maternity leave, stating:
“I’ve made the difficult decision to evolve my career, seeking new opportunities for professional and personal growth.”
Her new role marks a shift away from journalism.
Gil joined the station in 2013 as an MMJ reporter when it was a ZGS-owned Telemundo affiliate, following her graduation from the University of Central Florida. Over the years, she also served as a back-up anchor and producer.
In 2019, she was tapped to lead the Telemundo Responde unit as the station’s investigative reporter and producer.
Sources say her departure leaves a significant void, potentially shutting down the unit in Orlando, a claim a company spokesperson denies.

I can take that Corporate can be a soulless business, given.
But using the Leave Benefits and then quitting, not nice.
But maybe, it’s just me at my bubble.
