Dayanna Monroy has joined Telemundo 48 as a news anchor.
She will co-anchor the San Francisco Bay Area station’s weeknight newscasts alongside Miryam Villarreal and César Bayona.
Her on-air debut is yet to be determined.
Monroy makes the move from rival Univision 14, where she had been a news anchor and reporter since June 2023.
She previously worked at Teleamazonas in Ecuador from 2014 to 2022, with a focus on investigative journalism, and has also collaborated with media outlets in Argentina, Peru, and Bolivia, producing stories that addressed regional and global concerns.
Monroy also spent time as a producer for RTVE Spanish Television in Madrid from 2016 to 2017. She would later be a producer, director, and host of RTP Radio’s political show “Las Cosas Como Son,” in Guayaquil, Ecuador, from 2020 to 2021.
Earlier in her career, Monroy was a news reporter for Telerama TV, also in Guayaquil.
