Jesus Chávez has been named President and General Manager of Univision Los Angeles, effective immediately.
In his new position, he’ll oversee the station’s television, radio, digital, community, and social media properties. He’ll also manage the advertising sales, marketing, news, and production teams.
Chávez steps into a role left vacant following Veronika Maroian‘s departure earlier this year, amid a series of cuts and changes across TelevisaUnivision.
He rejoins Univision after leading CABRA Sports, a U.S. Latino youth sports fandom platform he co-founded.
He was previously CEO of Vertical Networks, a mobile-first content studio and joint venture between Snap Inc. and Liz Murdoch, where he expanded monetization and content studios across platforms, leading to the company’s sale.
Chávez also spent four years as SVP of Operations and COO at mitú, where he drove the strategy and the profitability of the company’s business portfolio, managed audience development, grew branded partnerships, and led fundraising efforts.
Chávez held various executive positions at Univision, including corporate strategy and leading affiliate relations for the Radio Group licensing programming both domestically and internationally, based in Dallas.
