Martin Ortiz has been named president and general manager at ABC’s KFSN in Fresno.
The promotion comes four years since he rejoined the station as news director in 2020.
Ortiz was previously as an executive producer at ABC-owned San Francisco station KGO-TV, where he oversaw the weekday editions of ABC7 Mornings and Midday Live and the expansion of the 11 a.m. newscast to a full hour.
Prior to landing the morning EP position at KGO, he spent five years as a morning, afternoon and evening newscast producer.
While in the Bay Area, he also did a one-year stint as a writer and producer at KTVU.
Ortiz started his journalism career as a weekend assignment desk editor in 2007, the very station he now leads as president and GM.
