Gloria Margarita, anchor at KMIR-6, the NBC affiliate in Palm Springs, leaves her job to become the executive director of the Reynaldo J. Carreon foundation. The non-profit benefits minority high school students.
According to The Desert Sun, Gloria herself is a recipient of the Carreon scholarship. She told the paper she wants to help send more students to college.
Gloria has been with KMIR since January of 2006, anchoring weekends for the last 2 years. She was previously a reporter for KNWA-51, the NBC affiliate in Fayetteville, Ark.
