WUVC-40, Univision’s O&O in Raleigh-Durham, N.C. (DMA 25) will debut a half-hour Spanish-language newscast starting August 29. Noticias 40 will air at 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Jaime Zea and Edwin Pitti will be the anchors, with Karina Torres reporting.
Since 2004, the station has aired news briefs. This is a first expansion into a half-hour newscast.
Jaime, a native of Colombia, previously produced daily news briefs and Univision’s community affairs segment in Raleigh and Cleveland. Prior to Univision, he worked on the assignment desk at Telemundo and with the Associated Press in Mexico City.
Edwin began his career in communications as an editor for the local newspaper “El Acento Latino.” He is originally from Panama.
