Armando Nuñez has been promoted to the newly created position of President and CEO of the CBS Global Distribution Group, as part of a consolidation of the company’s domestic and international units.
Nuñez was named President of CBS Studios International (CSI) in August of 2004, following the merger of CBS Broadcast International and Paramount International Television. He takes over the head of the domestic unit from President John Nogawski, who leaves the company after nearly 30 years at CBS and its predecessor, Paramount Domestic TV.
As President of CSI, Nuñez oversees all international distribution, sales and marketing for programming for CBS Television Studios, CBS Television Distribution, CBS News and Showtime. He’s also in charge of creating and licensing international formats, such as “America’s Next Top Model” and managing the company’s international channel assets.
Nuñez joined CBS Broadcast International as President in July 1999, adding the title of Executive Vice President, CBS Enterprises in 2000.
Prior to CBS, he was President, Universal International Television. Before that, he was President, New World International Television Distribution. He was previously Executive Vice President, International Sales, Viacom Entertainment.
