Less than two years after being named Editor of Spanish-language daily La Opinión, Reynaldo Mena is no longer with the paper. His last day was yesterday.
The same day, impreMedia, the paper’s parent company, announced that Gabriel Lerner was promoted to Editorial Director, replacing Mena.
Lerner was most recently National Digital Editor, rejoining the company in May, after a 3-year break during which he worked as Editorial Director for Huffington Post Voces.
“This is another step to improve La Opinión newsroom and to look for a new leadership more focused on our multimedia and multiproduct approach,” the company said in a statement.
Prior to joining La Opinión in December of 2012, Mena spent 9 years as Editorial Director of Hoy, Tribune’s Spanish-language weekly in Los Angeles.
