Iván Taylor, who resigned as Telemundo network’s Houston-based correspondent earlier this year, today started working at Univision’s WLTV 23 in Miami.
He joins Univision Local Media Miami as a special projects producer. A non-compete clause in his contract requires him to be off the air from any competitor, but when that restriction is lifted later in the year, his role is likely to change.
Univision 23’s VP of News, Roberto Vizcón, today sent staffers an internal memo welcoming Iván to the local news team.
Iván told Media Moves in March he “resigned because of a family illness to be close to my loved ones” and denied he had a job lined up.
The hire marks Ivan’s return to Miami’s local media market. He spent 12 years as an anchor/reporter at WSCV Telemundo 51, before moving to New York’s WNJU 47 and later, to Houston as a network correspondent.
