Alfredo Sánchez will be joining KDEN Telemundo Denver as the station’s News Director.
He fills the position left vacant by Pedro Calderón, who moved to San Diego to launch Telemundo’s O&O news operations in that city.
Sánchez will be responsible for the overall performance of the station’s news department across multiple platforms. He’ll report to Andrés Chaparro, President and General Manager of Telemundo Denver.
His first day at KDEN will be May 1.
Sánchez is currently Assistant News Director at KXTX Telemundo 39 in Dallas. Before that, he was at Telemundo Houston, where he launched his career in local broadcasting after working as a news reporter for El Día newspaper.

Hopefully after cleaning house in Dallas the station can finally show is number 5. Will he be renting escorts in Denver too? And please watch out for the way he complements woman in the work place.

I wish that an escort or a DWI ticket or a fistfight in a bar, were the things that would affect us more. But sadly, it’s not.
The industry faces a reality far and worse, the list is longer.
I worked with Sanchez while ago, in South Texas, never had a problem with him.
I guess is time for him to grow in a different and better direction, so Denver could come in handy.
Long I left the media world, but I still keep an eye on it, either due friends or relatives in it so it’s my understanding that Telemundo Dallas is one of the high “jewels” inside the brand.
One boss that just left for better things, the ones she dreamed after and a new one that arrives with good credentials both from Univision and Telemundo. No mistery there it seems, no cleansing whatsoever.
The problem is that at some point, media employees started blaming each others for the mistakes done or the unfulfilled promises, forgetting who really rocks the cradle.
You guys need to stop chastising each other and demanding more from Corporate.

So sad some are just so upset with the industry that only post trash. I worked with Sanchez in the past. He is great and Denver is lucky to have him

BS on Sanchez.
I’ve known him for years. He is one of the kindest and respectful person in the industry.
