ZGS Communications is selling all of its stations – 13 in all – to Telemundo.
After weeks of chatter about the sale of the stations, both companies confirmed the transaction.
Both companies will file joint applications for FCC approval, which would give Telemundo ownership of ZGS’s stations in Washington, D.C., Richmond, Hartford, Springfield, Providence, Fort Myers, Tampa, Orlando, Melbourne, Kissimmee, Raleigh, El Paso and Las Cruces.
The deal changes Telemundo’s plans for the launch of its D.C. owned and operated station.

I’m very excited that means Telemundo could be returning to the Raleigh-Durham market finally. And unlike that last time this could be a Telemundo O&O that would complete against already established Univision O&O WUVC. We be the only market in North Carolina to have two Spanish-Language Network affiliates.
