Carlos Tamez has returned to Dallas to join Estrella TV as news director and managing editor.
He’ll be overseeing newscasts in Dallas, Houston y Miami.
He started the new job this week.
He replaces Rubén Olague, who left the role in May, after two years with the company.
Tamez was most recently Director of Excélsior TV, a Mexican 24-hour news channel owned by Grupo Imagen Multimedia.
He left his job as executive producer at Telemundo Dallas in 2016, where he worked for three years, to take over that position and help launch the new network.
Prior to Telemundo, Tamez worked spent 10 years at KUVN-23, Univision’s O&O in Dallas, starting as a news producer in 2003, working his way up to news director in 2011.
