There will be a change in command at Telemundo Network news at the end of the year.
Telemundo today announced that president of news Luis Fernández will retire at the end of the year after nearly five decades in the media industry. EVP of News Patsy Loris will lead the network’s news division, stepping into the role on January 1, 2022.
Before joining Telemundo in March 2016, Fernández was CEO of Real Madrid for the Asia Pacific Region based in Beijing. He previously spent four years at Univision, where he was president of Entertainment and Univision Studios until 2013.
Fernández has also held leadership positions at Radio Television Española (RTVE), Canal +, Telecinco, Cadena SER, Radio EL PAÍS and Cadena COPE.
After spending 30 years at Univision, Loris joined Noticias Telemundo in 2019 as SVP of Elections 2020 and Special Projects. She oversaw coverage of the 2020 presidential election, the Presidential Inauguration and the January 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
Earlier this year she led the revamping and launch of the network’s morning show “hoyDía,” with an enhanced news-focused format. Loris has also overseen special news programming including a series of live primetime news specials on the coronavirus pandemic.
The Observers says
Well, from the moment she came here, we all knew that was the plan. Mr Spain had been threatening with his retirement for long enough. My only beef with all this? Loris bringing here proven failed and toxic elements from her prior company. And not only her, others prior to her have done in advance.
At the end of the day, she was able to navigate there and now here, now gaining the News Crown, so kudos to her. Looking past, the biggest losers here are E. Valdes. A. Falcon, S. Rosabal, etc. She won. Period.
Another loser from her prior Doral life ?
Maria Martinez. She should had gotten the helmet after the buyout, no Mr. Leopoldo Televisa Gomez.
But this is a gamble. This is the game we were given.
If you don’t know how to play and to be defeated, you better retire asap.

I didn’t like Mr. Spain all the changes he made was weird I’m used to them but still he was weird. Patsy Loris is from Univision I’m starting to get this bad energy feels from anyone who comes to Univision they nothing really changes or helps step up there game.
