Jorge Vélez has joined WSOC TV Telemundo Charlotte as a multimedia journalist.
His on-air debut is today.
Vélez will be reporting for the station’s weekday 5, 6 and 11 pm broadcasts, alongside with Sylvia Obén, Belén Gómez-Jordana and news anchor Daniel Viotto.
Prior to joining Telemundo Charlotte, he worked as a freelance journalist in Puerto Rico and produced his own “En Cuestión de Segundos” social media news briefs.
He previously anchored and produced a radio news program and was a guest host on special programs broadcast on WIPR Channel 6 and also worked as a reporter and story producer in the press and communications office in Puerto Rico’s municipality of Cidra.
A native of Cidra, Puerto Rico, Vélez got his start in the media industry when he was 15, working for a digital entertainment magazine.
