Grupo Televisa and Univision closed their $4.8 billion content merger, nine months after they announced plans to combine their media assets.
The end of the transaction means the start of a new holding company named TelevisaUnivision, Inc., which now has its own branding and logo. The company started using the new logo for its press releases and new TelevisaUnivision corporate website that replaced the Univision corporate site.
Univision network branding will continue to be in place with the identifiable tulip multi-colored logo on full display across its platforms and Univision.com will be functioning as usual for its consumers.
As a result of the merger, the company says TelevisaUnivision now reaches over 100 million Spanish speakers every day.
Wade Davis, Univision CEO since December 2020, will remain at the helm of TelevisaUnivision as CEO.
