Caridad Hernandez has been promoted to news content director at WUSA, Tegna’s CBS affiliate in Washington, D.C.
She was most recently assistant news director, a post she’s held for the past two years.
In her new role, she’ll oversee the news department’s day-to-day operations, leading editorial coverage and production of the station’s newscasts.
She’ll be reporting to Michael Valentine, the station’s vice president and station manager.
A seven-time Emmy award-winning journalist, Hernandez joined the station as content discovery and producing lead in 2019.
She previously pent 7 years as an executive producer of investigations and special projects at CBS4 Miami.
She also worked as an executive producer for CNN in Atlanta from 2008 to 2011. Before that, she was an executive producer at NBC6 in Miami.
