Michelle Rodríguez has left Telemundo 20 in San Diego after a 3-year run.
Rodríguez, who joined the station in 2019 as a freelance MMJ before landing a staff position, is now working for a PR agency in Southern California.
She says the time was right to end her career in news, which spanned 8 years.
“After dealing with the pandemic disruptions, especially in news, I decided news was no longer fueling my passion, my mental health was slipping in the midst of so many negative topics to cover during these devastating times the world faced,” she tells Media Moves.
“This isn’t to say I will never seek to return, but for now, my sights are set on other things.”
Rodríguez got her start in the news industry as a general assignment reporter at Estrella TV in Los Angeles, making the move to Telemundo Las Vegas in 2017, before calling it quits in Telemundo San Diego.
