Angelina Salcedo is heading to Atlanta for a new job opportunity.
She is joining TEGNA’s NBC affiliate WXIA-TV 11Alive as a weeknight reporter.
She starts the new gig on April 29.
Salcedo is moving from the CBS affiliate WTSP-TV in Tampa, where she is the weekend morning anchor and lead evening reporter.
During her five years at 10 Tampa Bay, she’s covered local and national stories.
She started her professional broadcast career at WOI-TV in Des Moines, Iowa as a reporter and fill-in anchor from 2017 to 2019.
Salcedo, a first-generation Dominican American who grew up in Boston, got prior practice while attending Emerson College, working at the school’s award-winning TV station, WEBN-TV Boston.
Her love for journalism runs in the family. Her father is Angel Salcedo, an anchor for Boston TV show “Encuentro Latino.” Her mother, Yadires Nova-Salcedo, anchored for more than 20 years at WBZ-TV, and her brother Angel Jr. is a sports reporter at WCVB-TV.
