Humberto Lozano Lopez, the founder of Lopez Broadcasting, died last week at the age of 73.
Humberto founded several South Texas radio and TV stations, including KMIQ 104.9 FM in Corpus Christi, Majic 95.9 FM in Victoria and KLMO 98.9 FM in San Antonio. He also founded the Tejano Music Video Network.
He started his broadcasting career at San Antonio’s KCOR, the nation’s first Spanish-language radio station, before starting his own broadcast company.
