Liz Roldán has joined Nexstar Media Group-owned KIAH-TV as its news director.
She now oversees newsroom operations and content strategy across all platforms. She reports to VP and General Manager Humberto Hormaza, who has been at the station’s helm since May 2024.
She now oversees newsroom operations and content strategy across all of the Houston station’s platforms, reporting to Vice President and General Manager Humberto Hormaza.
A Houston native, Roldán’s broadcast journalism career spans four decades.
Prior to KIAH-TV, she served as news director at KHOU in Houston for almost four years. Before that, she spent more than 30 years in various leadership roles at Miami stations, including as news director at WFOR, where she worked from 2011 to 2021.
Earlier in her career, she rose through the ranks at WTVJ-NBC 6 in Miami, progressing from assignment manager to managing editor over the course of 13 years.
Roldán is a 13-time regional Emmy® winner and has led teams to win prestigious awards, including the National Edward R. Murrow and Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Awards.
