Javier Pons has been promoted to Chief Content Officer and Head of Telemundo Studios, where he will lead development and production of scripted content for Telemundo network and streaming platforms. Additionally, he will now oversee the network’s entertainment division, focusing on unscripted programming, daily shows, and live specials.
Pons assumes these responsibilities following Ronald Day’s exit as Telemundo’s President of Entertainment in February 2025.
Pons joined Telemundo in April 2024 as EVP of Telemundo Studios, a newly created position that was part of a leadership restructuring.
He reports directly to Luis Fernández, Chairman of NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, who has held that position since 2023.
Previously, Pons served as General Director of Spain’s Globomedia and Head of TV at The Mediapro Studio, where he led production of multiple series for mobile and streaming platforms and co-produced the feature film “Competencia Oficial.”
His career includes various leadership roles in Spanish media companies, including Prisa Radio and Televisión Española and also worked in Mexico at Estudios Azteca.
